After months of waiting… they are here

Getting the news you are expecting is like no other!!

There are so many emotions and the due date seems so far away.

You anxiously wait for each check to make sure all is going ok and keep looking ahead towards the due date to meet your baby.

I often get asked WHEN should I book a newborn session?

I always tell parents to book your newborn session when you are thinking of it as those last weeks time does seem to go by fast and sometimes your sweet baby or babies decide they are ready to see mom and dad sooner than that due date.

I often get asked WHEN do we schedule a newborn session?

I try to schedule newborn sessions between days 7-14 days new but also tell parents that window can be flexible as each baby and family has a different set of things going on. However I always try to schedule your session prior to coming home as I remember the days of bringing a newborn home and while sleep is little time is a thief and before you know it a week has gone by.

I was so excited to meet this crew who found me over google search engine! We scheduled their newborn session during the second trimester and being twins we knew they would like be early. I was so excited to get the news they were here and was ready to meet them all.

We met at the studio which is a bright white open space in Frankfort to capture these sweet twins and their parents for their first photography session. We definitely were able to capture their sweetness sleeping and awake and lots of cuddles with mom and dad.

How fast that first birthday comes

Everyone tells you how fast those newborn days go but it is hard to believe you blink and your baby is turning ONE! First birthday sessions can be tailored to your theme and colors.

While a cake smash picture may not the be one you hang on your wall, it will be a memory for you to treasure. Often smash cakes happen at first birthday parties and gatherings where parents are busy entertaining so when you opt to do a smash cake at your first birthday photo session, you get to soak in the moment with your baby!!

Big sister promotion

It doesn’t seem that long ago that I met this family for a maternity session before their daughter arrived. Thank you to google, I am so lucky to have gained a loyal family to Christina Bailitz Photography to capture her first two years and now their little boy. Getting to watch these milestones in a family is truly a gift to me that they choose me and to be able to document these moments to treasure is a gift to them.

What is my style of newborns?

My style for newborns is lifestyle, which highlights the connection of baby and family. I feel it is so important to include the family in this session as this is a time your family is growing. Then of course we get plenty of pictures of the sweet newborn too with minimal props. The focus is your sweet baby.

Newborn sessions can be at your home or at the Frankfort studio.

How to book a newborn session?

I book ONE newborn session each week so I encourage you to reserve your due date as soon as you decide you want to do newborn pictures. However some weeks are available even as due dates get closer so always reach out to see.

Faith and SPring

As spring arrives in Chicago, it brings sweet children to me to capture for their first holy communion. This sacrament in their faith is a special milestone. I love how these sweet children come in dressed in their suits and dresses and embrace the sacrement.

Maternity sessions are a special time as Mom & Dad wait to meet their little one.

The excitement as you prepare for this chapter is unique and one you can’t truly explain to someone. I am having so much fun meeting parents for maternity sessions.

This is a time to capture the love and excitement. The moments of pregnancy are special from starting to plan for a family to finding out the baby is coming to feeling those first kicks and watching the transformation of the baby growing. These are moments you will treasure and a maternity photo session is one way to capture this time to have in print to look back on.

And I absolutely loved the outfit change to casual and the way these images are!! Such a fun twist to a maternity session.

Graduation is a time to celebrate

Graduation season is a busy one and an important one.

I always say you will remember the year you graduate because it seems to be a question as you age that will be asked. It is a year that you start a whole new chapter, wether that is celebrating your advancement from preschool/kindergarten to elementary school, junior high to high school, or high school to your next chapter. These are special times.

Booking a graduation session gives you images to treasure and reflect on. I always encourage to book sessions before graduation because graduation season always seems to get busy.

Graduation Sessions can be a mini session or All-in session and can be booked at the studio or another location. The focus of this session is your graduate and I like to make this experience about them. Like the session above, we did some shirt & tie images and then some relaxed. Booking your own photography session is an experience and allows you to capture your child in a way that is your vision.

A blessing - a new baby boy to the family

I love when I get to connect with a family and then they come back for another session. I always say getting asked back to capture your families is an honor and gift.

The newborn days really do go by so fast, so I love capturing little moments during the session like below - as they only fit in the nook of your arm for so long.

A new little girl

Sweet A was 9 days new for her in-studio newborn photography session. Full of snuggles with mom and her big brother. Her beautiful mom was my daughters kindergarten teacher. So it was that many years ago that I was taking pictures in her first class as a mom volunteer and we connected. Now I am watching her children grow up and making sure she gets in the pictures too.
