BABY on the way

Maternity photos are such a special way to document this special time before the baby is in your arms. As a mom of three, I look back and wish I had maternity photographs taken. I am so guilty of being the one behind the camera but it is so important to get in front of the camera. So mom’s make sure you get in front of the lens and be documented as you are an important part of this journey!

When you play a sport or join a team in high school, it becomes a part of your high school memories and I feel should be included in your senior pictures. I love getting to meet upcoming graduates for their senior photos and capture them in uniform at their high school and let them guide the way to free this special time before graduation happens.

And not all sessions have to be at your high school as I know some great locations in the area to capture your senior moments and I promise you will be glad to have your high school uniforms in a photo once these years have passed even more than in this moment.

Four years of high school flies by fast. Everyone tells you this when you have a freshman, but it is absolutely true, as I just sent my first born to college this fall. High school is a period of growth, as they go through classes, sports, activities, dances and make new friends, which all help them prepare for their next step after graduation. A senior photo session captures their senior season. Senior photo sessions are unique to each senior as they pick the location(s), outfits and poses. These sessions allow them to be themselves. It allows their personality to shine. It allows them to have pictures to treasure of this special time.

I can’t wait to see in the spring where my seniors are heading to after graduation!

A newborn is a gift from above

Newborn photography sessions create a still moment in a busy time, as your family changes by two feet. This year I am offering newborn sessions at your home or at the studio in Mokena which is a great natural light and open airy studio to capture your baby and family. This allows you time to recover from delivery and get some sleep and to know your sweet baby before having your first photo session. Ideally capturing the baby between 7-14 days new and you can choose a one wrap session and family photos at the studio or a full newborn session at your home or studio. I guarantee that you will not regret making a date for newborn pictures. This is a short season in the journey of parenthood, even though the sleepless nights make it seem longer than it is.

Summer Family Photo Session

Summer is a great time to capture family photos, as the days are longer, the sun is out longer and it is a great time to get outdoors with your family. This family had a wonderful session at Pilcher Park in New Lenox.

And let me tell you almost EVERYONE has a special treat after the session or is planning on a stop on the way home, especially in the summer heat and humidity of Chicago photo sessions in the summer. I am a mom of three too and know all it takes to pull together family pictures, but I also know all the planning is so worth it, so have that sucker ready these kids deserve them!! And LOVED when they gave Mom & Dad a thumbs up because they truly ROCKED their session.

Four Year Old Photos at Fort Park

When you look back and think of what your 4 year old LOVED to go out and do you may think of going to the park. So many kids love the park, that I try to avoid locations that have parks when we pick a location for a family photo session with young children, because once they see the park they are ready to play! So when a parent suggests a park session I am all in! Fun action shots. A few posed shots. And the session is a win!!

And this local park is set up like a huge fort. The kids LOVE to run and then see if I can find them!! They do hide pretty well I must say.

Needless to say we had so much fun exploring and swinging and laughing and running.

This session by far caught the childhood fun of this four year old!

And while photos with mom were not planned I made mom jump into the camera frame for a few images! I am a firm believer that mom’s don’t jump in pictures enough and yet the years of pushing them on the swings and chasing them around the park, like most of motherhood fly by way too fast.

SENIOR PROM 2021

Prom is special right of passage for many seniors. It’s something many generations share stories of and prom surely has changed over the years but still the same gathering with high school before new paths start.

The shopping for the right dress, scheduling hair, nails, or make-up for some. Ordering flowers that match the dress. The gathering with friends for pictures and dates. Dancing the night away and ditching those perfect shoes that went with the dress.Post post prom activities to follow. The final party with your high school before graduation (pre-Covid). While this may not be everyone’s experience, it is a big moment for many seniors. And this years senior class is getting to plan prom in new ways some through their school other through parents, but one thing is for sure, there is more PROM this year! Having photo’s of this memory is important to the kids and families I have found. It is a time you look back on if you went.

So if you have a date coming up for prom, think about booking a photographer for the group pictures to get some pictures and it also lets the parents enjoy a little visiting and the moment. Or you can schedule a prom session with friends on another after prom and wear your fancy clothes again with friends from your school others. I guarantee from seeing the number of downloads from the past weekend’s prom for my daughter, these kids enjoyed getting their pictures taken and not having their phones out the whole time for pictures.

4 years of High School

You blink and they are gone. And for the Class of 2021 Seniors those days were even more limited missing so much in school time with the pandemic.

Senior year is one of big decisions to be made with graduation on the horizon and planning the next chapter. So once a decision is made a College Tee Session is a perfect way to announce your next chapter!
